Neem Karoli Baba (c. 1900–1973), also known as Maharaj-ji, was an Indian Hindu saint whose teachings emphasized unconditional love, selfless service, simplicity, and remembrance of the Divine. Although he left behind few formal writings, thousands of visitors described encountering an extraordinary presence characterized by compassion, humor, and profound insight into the lives of those around him. His influence spread internationally through students including Ram Dass, Krishna Das, and Larry Brilliant. Within the Consciousness Observatory, Neem Karoli Baba is represented not as a theological authority but as a historical example of a consciousness consistently oriented toward service, presence, and universal compassion.
